测试的重点在于判断哪些动词或结构后要求接动名词,以及动名词的时态和语态.
（1）接动名词作宾语的动词 这些动词有：admit,allow,anticipate,appreciate,avoid,consider,deny,delay,enjoy,excuse,favor,fancy,finish,imagine,keep,mind,miss,permit,postpone,practise,prevent,resent,resist,risk,suggest等.
例12 Many people favor ____ more nuclear power plants.

例13 They are considering ____ the house before the prices go up.

答案是（B）.
（2）动名词的短语 这些短语有：be opposed to,be used to,can't help,feel like,give up,go on,insist on,keep on,leave off,look forward to,object to,put off,succeed in等.
例 14 She was so angry that she felt like ____ something at him.
A) to throw B) throwing C) to have thrown D) having thrown
答案是（B）.
（3）名词在其它结构中的使用 to be busy doing sth.to spend/waste time（in）doing sth.have difficulty/trouble （in）doing sth.to be no use /good （in）doing sth.There is some（much…）point/sense/use/…（in）doing sth.be worth doing
例15 Jean did not have time to go to the concert last night because she was busy ____ for her examination.

（4） need,require,deserve,demand,want接动名词,要用主动形式表示被动涵义（相当 于动词不定式的被动形式,即：V＋doing=V＋to be done） 例16 His last year's trousers are now outgrown and need ____ a little.
A) to lengthen B) to be lengthening C) lengthening D) lengthened
答案是（C）.这里的lengthening 亦可用to be lengthened替代.

need 这个词做实义动词时就可以, 当主语是被动,比如花需要浇水(花不能自己去浇水,是需要被别人浇水的) 所以判断是被动,就可以这么说:
