这里整句话都是过去时态,所以填的词也应该是过去时态的某种形式.
他们说雨一停就开始.
开始是在雨停以后,对于说话的时候而言是个将来要发生的行为,所以用过去将来时.would+动词原形.
would start.从句过去时，主句正常也是过去时，但根据句意，主句时态在从句之后，故用过去将来时。
had started as soon as...... 一.....就...... 从句是过去时的话，主句是过去完成时。
