south China是有这种说法的,初三的复习资料上有.
我的笔记是：
south China 指华南.即划定东南部的几个省区（湖南、江西等）
south of China 之中国南部.即中国南部大范围的土地,没有固定分界
另外,如楼上所说,所用介词不同意思也会不同.
如：The forest is in the south of China 这座森林在中国南部
India is to the south of China 印度在中国的南边
south China指的是中国以外的南部， south of China指的是中国的南部，是在国内的
前一种指中国南部，比如说中国的南面是哪个国家，指国外范围
后一种指中国的南部，比如说中国的南部有广州，海南等等，指国内这样一个区域
south China 中国南方,华南(在中国境内)
south of China 中国的南方,不在中国境内
India is to the south of China.:
印度在中国的南边。
一般来说，用的都是
Southern China，不用south China
Southern China和south of China 没甚么区别，用法也基本相同
south china : 是反中国分子的说法，故意把中国说成已分裂国家
south of china : 中国南部
