清洁提单，就是指货物装船时，表面状况良好，承运人或其代理人未在提单上加注货损或包装不良之类批注的提单

通常船公司的提单,如果不加任何不良批注,就表明该提单是清洁已装船提单,一般客人信用证中都会要求全套的清洁提单,至于提单上是否显示 CLEAN ON BOARD,船公司基本不会显示这些字样的，但是对于这一点,各个银行有不同的做法,大多数银行都不要求提单上显示CLEAN ON BOARD 字样,也就是说,他们不会把没有CLEAN ON BOARD 作为单据的不符点,但是有的银行就一定要有.比如部分地区的中国银行就会出现这个问题,一般接到信用证申请以后跟银行确认,他们针对信用证上的该条是否要求提单必须显示,如果要求,那赶快通知客人不要在单据要求中显示该条目,同时告诉客人原因.
要看你LC怎么要求的,大多数是FULL SETS OF MARINE CLEAN ON BOARD B/L,提单无须写明clean on board字样;但有个别客户LC会要求B/L MARKED CLEAN ON BOARD,就只能要求提单上必须出现clean on board字样啦!
根据ISBP 79.“已装运表面状况良好”（Shipped in apparent good order）、“已载于船”(Laden on board)、“清洁已装船”(clean on board)或其他包含“已装运”（shipped）或“已装船”（“on board”）之类用语的措辞与“已装运上船”（“Shipped on board”）具有同等效力。
ISBP 91. 即使信用证可能要求“清洁已装船提单”（clean on board bill of lading）或注明“清洁已装船”（clean on board）的提单，提单也无需出现“清洁”（clean）字样.
